The parish of Cheriton Fitzpaine is home to approximately 800 people and is a thriving and welcoming community. The village has a primary school, community shop, Anglican church, parish hall, two pubs, a doctors’ surgery and a visiting post office. There are many clubs and organisations hosting activities to suit various age groups including the football club, cricket club, garden club, drama group, a monthly lunch for parishioners hosted by the Welcome Club and many other fun social activities for all ages and interests.

There are two green play spaces in the middle of the village and many lovely country lanes and public footpaths for dog walking.

Our village plays host to many large scale social activities; a fantastic bonfire and firework display is held in November drawing in crowds from across Mid Devon and a biennial carnival where village groups compete to be crowned ‘Best in Carnival’! The Parish Hall is the social centre of the village, holding many events such as cinema nights, quizzes, ceildhs, a bustling market, visiting bands and other entertainment.
