Coldridge Car Pool

The Car Pool exists to offer affordable, friendly transport for parishioners without their own car. We mainly take people to medical and dental appointments but we can be flexible within reason.  We charge a rate based only upon the fuel costs for a return journey. Our drivers give their time freely.

We started by using the standard Civil Service Mileage Rate. However, we felt that this was a bit too generous for the ‘Not For Profit’ scheme we were trying to achieve. Therefore, we have ‘rounded down’ our charges to make them as economical as possible for our ‘customers’ whilst still covering the fuel costs of our drivers.

As of 1st April 2023, our current Return Tariffs are as follows:

• Bow:                         £4.00                Surgery and/or Post Office
• North Tawton:        £4.00                Surgery, Pharmacy and Post Office
• Winkleigh:               £3.50                Surgery, Vets and Post Office
• Chulmleigh:            £6.00                Surgery/Pharmacy
• Crediton:                 £7.00                Hospital and Dentists
• Okehampton:         £10.00              Hospital
• Exeter:                     £15.00              RD&E, Heavitree and Nightingale
• Barnstaple:             £17.00              North Devon Hospital
