Minutes 11th March 2021

Parish Council meeting on Thursday 11th March 2021 at 8 p.m.

Due to COVID-19 this meeting was held remotely via video conferencing 

 

  1. MEMBERS PRESENT

 

Mr G. Hall (Chairman), Mr D. Berry, Mrs J. Mitchell, Mr. P. Lake, Mr G. Kingdom, Mrs P. Colthorpe (District Councillor)

  1. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

 

The minutes of the meeting held on 11th February 2021 had already been circulated prior to the meeting.

 

Proposal: Agreement to the content of the minutes was proposed by Mrs. Mitchell and seconded by Mr. Kingdom and was unanimously agreed by the meeting. Minutes will be signed by the chairman in due course.

 

  1. DECLARATION OF INTEREST

 

None

 

  1. MATTERS ARISING

 

The clerk stated that she had received an email from Cllr Squires giving information on a new officer Mr Chris Parkes at Devon CC who is now dealing with Traffic Regulation Orders and she had asked about the progress of the TRO for Pennymoor and Lapford. The officer stated that it would be dealt with in the next financial year.

 

The clerk informed the meeting that she had emailed Chris Parkes asking for details of how the TRO would progress and the timescales.

 

  1. PARISH COUNCILLOR VACANCY

 

The clerk stated that the day after Allison Clements resigned as Parish Councillor, she asked to retract her resignation. However, as Mid Devon DC had already been informed of the resignation it was necessary to readvertise the vacancy for the required 14 working days. Mid Devon DC had confirmed that no-one had requested an election within the required timescale and therefore it was ok to co-opt a parish councillor.

 

Proposal: Mr P. Lake proposed and Mrs Mitchell seconded co-opting Allison Clements back onto the parish council and the meeting unanimously agreed.

 

  1. HIGHWAY PROBLEMS

 

The following potholes were reported:

 

  • On approach to turn off at Peak Corner on B3137
  • Several on road between Cruwys Arms pub and Tremar bungalow
  • On B3137 from Pages Cross to Withleigh several potholes
