Minutes 8th April 2021

Parish Council meeting on Thursday 8th April 2021 at 8 p.m.

Due to COVID-19 this meeting was held remotely via video conferencing 

  1. MEMBERS PRESENT 

Mr G. Hall (Chairman), Mr D. Berry, Mrs J. Mitchell, Mr. M. Lake, Mrs P. Colthorpe (District Councillor), Cllr M. Squires (County Councillor) 

  1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE 

 Mr G. Kingdom (Work commitments), Mrs A. Clements (Couldn’t access Zoom meeting) 

  1. NON-ATTENDANCE

  1. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING 

The minutes of the meeting held on 11th March 2021 had already been circulated prior to the meeting. 

Proposal: Agreement to the content of the minutes was proposed by Mr Berry and seconded by Mrs Mitchell and was unanimously agreed by the meeting. Minutes will be signed by the chairman in due course. 

  1. DECLARATION OF INTEREST 

None 

  1. MATTERS ARISING 

The chairman reported that the warning road sign had now been erected in Way Village. 

The clerk reported that Teresa Grant (Parish Councillor) had resigned and the formal advert for the vacancy had been put on the noticeboard and website.

7. DALC subscription

A discussion took place concerning the merits of payment of this subscription 

Proposal: Mrs Mitchell proposed and Mr Berry seconded payment of this subscription and the meeting unanimously agreed. The clerk will make a BACS payment for £116.29. 

  1. Risk Assessment 

The clerk had provided the Risk Assessment information as at 31st March 2021 with additional details about COVID-19 which was discussed by the meeting. 

Proposal: Mr Lake proposed and Mr Berry seconded agreement to the Risk Assessment information and the meeting unanimously agreed. 

  1. Statement of internal control 

The clerk had already provided a Statement of Internal Control document as at 31st March 2021 which was discussed by the meeting. 

Proposal: Mr Berry proposed and Mrs Mitchell seconded agreement to the Statement of Internal Control document and the meeting unanimously agreed.

  1. Accounts 2020/21 

The clerk had provided the meeting with a copy of the accounts for 2020/21 before the meeting. 

Proposal: Mrs Mitchell proposed and Mr M. Lake seconded approval of the accounts and meeting unanimously agreed. 

  1. Parish clerk’s salary 2020/21 

The clerk gave out her claim for salary payment for 2020/21. After some discussion the following was agreed:

Proposal: Mr Berry proposed and Mr M. Lake seconded the following: 

£2,874.11 (includes £574.80 Income Tax) (Spinal point 21) 

The meeting unanimously agreed. The clerk will make a BACS payment for the salary and the income tax. 

  1. Highways 

The following was reported: 

- Potholes between Greenland Head and Puddington near Forke Farm
