Parish Council meeting was held on Thursday 14th December 2023 at 8 p.m. in the Parish Hall

 

  1. MEMBERS PRESENT

Mr G. Hall (Chairman), Mr. P. Lake, Mr. J. Grant, Mr. M. Lake, Cllr P. Colthorpe (District Councillor)

2. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

 Mrs J. Mitchell (Sick), Mr G. Kingdom (Work commitments), Ms R. Wibberley (Family commitments)

3. NON-ATTENDANCE

Mr . D. Berry 

4.     MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING 

The minutes of the meeting held on 9th November 2023 had already been circulated prior to the meeting. 

Proposal: Agreement to the content of the minutes was proposed by Mr P. Lake and seconded by Mr. Grant and was unanimously agreed by the meeting. The minutes were signed by the chairman.

6.     MATTERS ARISING 

None 

  1. PLANNING APPLICATION (23/01816/HOUSE) – Erection of two storey side extension following demolition of existing single storey extension at Weeke Farm, Pennymoor. 

A short discussion took place. 

Proposal: Mr P. Lake proposed and Mr Grant seconded approval of this application and the meeting unanimously agreed. 

  1. PLANNING APPLICATION (23/01824/FULL) – Erection of 3 dwellings following demolition of existing agricultural buildings utilising Class Q fallback at Vulscombe Farm, Pennymoor. 

A lengthy discussion took place. 

Proposal: Mr P. Lake proposed, and Mr Grant seconded no objections to this application and the meeting unanimously agreed. 

  1. CHURCHYARD GRANTS 

The meeting discussed the payments for the three churchyard grants in the parish. 

Proposal: Mr P. Lake proposed, and Mr M. Lake seconded the following payments: 

Holy Cross Church, Cruwys Morchard                =£460.00

Way Village Congregational Chapel                    = £230.00

Nomansland Congregational Chapel                   = £230.00 

The meeting unanimously agreed. 

  1. COST OF HIRING ROOM IN PARISH HALL 

The clerk stated that during 2023 the parish council had had 8 meetings at a total cost of £54.00. 

Proposal: Mr. M. Lake proposed, and Mr P. Lake seconded a payment of £54.00 to the parish hall and the meeting unanimously agreed. 

  1. HIGHWAYS 

Potholes reported as follows: 

  • On the road between the parish hall and Pages cross
  • Edgeworthy Hill
  • On the road between Ruckham Cross and parish hall need the Ruckham Cross junction
