Parish Council meeting was held on Thursday 20th June 2024 at 8 p.m. in the Parish Hall

 

  1. MEMBERS PRESENT

 Mr G. Hall (Chairman), Mr. P. Lake, Mr D. Berry, Mrs J. Mitchell, , Mr. M. Lake, Mr. J. Grant, Mrs. P Colthorpe (District Councillor), Cllr M. Squires (County Councillor)

2.  APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

Ms R. Wibberley (Family visit)

3.  NON-ATTENDANCE

Mr. G. Kingdom

4.     MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING 

The minutes of the meeting held on 9th May 2024 had already been circulated prior to the meeting. 

Proposal: Agreement to the content of the minutes was proposed by Mr. Berry and seconded by Mrs Mitchell and was unanimously agreed by the meeting. The minutes were not available so will be signed at the next meeting. 

5.     DECLARATION OF INTEREST 

Mrs. J. Mitchell declared a personal interest in planning 24/00774/FULL 

6.     MATTERS ARISING 

SIGNING OF PREVIOUS MINUTES 

The minutes of the meetings held on 11th April 2024 and the 2023 AGM which had been approved on 9th May 2024 but not signed, were now signed by the chairman. 

  1. PLANNING APPLICATION (24/00774/FULL) – Erection of an agricultural storage building and construction of access track and yard turning area at Cotton Heath House, Pennymoor.

Mrs Mitchell left the meeting 

A discussion took place concerning the reason why the agricultual storage was needed. 

Proposal: Mr Berry proposed and Mr M Lake seconded refusal of this application and the meeting unanimously agreed for the following reason: 

  • History shows previous agricultural building being converted into dwellings
  • No reason given for need for further agricultural building 

Mrs Mitchell returned to the meeting 

  1. PLANNING APPLICATION (24/00806/FULL) – Erection of a roof over existing sheep handling area at Northcote, Pennymoor 

A short discussion took place 

Proposal: Mr P. Lake proposed and Mr Grant seconded agreement to this application and the meeting unanimously agreed. 

  1. WOODLAND CREATION – HIGHER YEADBURY 

The clerk stated that she had received an email Tilhill forestry to establish a woodland creation plan at Higher Yeadbury, Pennymoor. 

A short discussion took place but no objections were raised. 

  1. LAPTOP PURCHASE 

As agreed at May’s meeting the clerk purchased a new parish council laptop for £445.00 (£410 for the laptop plus £35 to transfer software and data)

None
