Minutes March 2024
Parish Council meeting was held on Thursday 14th March 2024 at 8 p.m. in the Parish Hall
1. MEMBERS PRESENT
Mr G. Hall (Chairman), Mr. P. Lake, Mr. J. Grant, Mr D. Berry, Mrs J. Mitchell, Ms R. Wibberley, Cllr P. Colthorpe (District Councillor), Cllr M. Squires (County Councillor)
2. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
None
3. NON-ATTENDANCE
Mr. G. Kingdom and Mr. M. Lake
4. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
The minutes of the meeting held on 11th January 2024 had already been circulated prior to the meeting.
Proposal: Agreement to the content of the minutes was proposed by Mrs Mitchell and seconded by Mr. Berry and was unanimously agreed by the meeting. The minutes were signed by the chairman.
5. DECLARATION OF INTEREST

6. MATTERS ARISING
None
7. TOWN AND PARISH REVIEW
The meeting discussed the amended Town and Parish review produced by Mid Devon District Council.
Proposal: Mr P. Lake proposed and Ms Wibberley seconded agreement to the review and the meeting uninimously agreed.
8. AGRICULTURAL VEHICLE SIZE
Ms Wibberley explained that she had received several complaints from parishionersabout the size of the agricultual vehicles passing through and making deliveries in the parish, which are far to big for the narrow roads and lanes.
The meeting discussed the problem at length, however it was agreed that due to the changes in the way farms and business are run these days, it is inevitable that vehicles will get bigger and heavier in order for businesses to survive.
It was decided no further action was required.
9. GOV.UK EMAIL DOMAIN
The clerk stted that recenlty the NALC had recommended that parish councils should set up the use of gov.uk email domain for extra security.
After a discussion it was decided to continue using Councillors personal email addresses and to review the situation in the future.
10. HIGHWAYS
The following potholes were reported:
- On the corner by the parish hall
- On the road between the parish hall and Pages Cross
- On the road nearby the Pennymoor congregational church
