Parish Council meeting was held on Thursday 14th November 2024 at 8 p.m. in the Parish Hall
1. MEMBERS PRESENT
Mr G. Hall (Chairman), Mr D. Berry, Mr. J. Grant, Mr. G. Kingdom, Mrs. P Colthorpe (District Councillor)
2. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Cllr M. Squires (County Councillor), Ms R. Wibberley (Personal meeting), Mrs J. Mitchell (Family event)
3. NON-ATTENDANCE
Mr. M. Lake, Mr. P. Lake
4. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
The minutes of the meeting held on 10th October 2024 had already been circulated prior to the meeting.
Proposal: Agreement to the content of the minutes was proposed by Mr. Kingdom and seconded by Mr Berry and was unanimously agreed by the meeting. The minutes were duly signed by the chairman.
5. DECLARATION OF INTEREST
None
6. MATTERS ARISING
Mr M.Lake reset the light in the phone box which is in now working ok.
7. PLANNING APPLICATION (24/01573/FULL) – Extension to earth bank slurry lagoon and construction of roof to intercept rainwater (995 sq.m), Location: Land at NGR 282358 113812 West Middlewick Farm Nomansland
A short discussion took place
Proposal: Mr Kingdom proposed and Mr Berry seconded no objections to this application and the meeting unanimously agreed.
8. PLANNING APPLICATION (24/01615/FULL) – Extension to earth bank slurry lagoon and construction of roof to intercept rainwater (East) (995 sq.m), Location: Land at NGR 282358 113812 West Middlewick Farm Nomansland
A short discussion took place
Proposal: Mr Kingdom proposed and Mr Berry seconded no objections to this application and the meeting unanimously agreed.
9. CHURCHYARD GRANTS
A short discussion took place, and it was agreed to increase the Churchyard Grants
Proposal: Mr Kingdom proposed and Mr Grant seconded churchyard grants of:
Holy Cross - £480.00
Way Village Congregational church - £240.00
Nomansland Chapel - £240.00
The meeting unanimously agreed
10. PRECEPT
The clerk gave out details of the budget for 2025-6. Discussion took place.
Proposal: Mr Kingdom proposed and Mr Berry seconded an increased precept of £5800 and the meeting unanimously agreed.
11. DEFIBRILLATOR – replacement pads
The clerk stated that as agreed she had replaced the defibrillator pads at a cost of £319.14.
Proposal: Mr Kingdom proposed and Mr Berry seconded payment of the invoice for £319.14 and the meeting unanimously agreed.
12.CONSULTATION ON REMOTE MEETINGS
After much discussion it was decided not to answer the questions as wifi was not available in the parish hall.
The clerk was asked to contact the parish hall about the possibility of getting wifi in the hall, with the parish council being prepared to contribute to the cost.
