 Parish Council meeting was held on Thursday 13th March 2025 at 8 p.m. in the Parish Hall

  1.  MEMBERS PRESENT

Mr G. Hall (Chairman), Mr D. Berry, Mr. J. Grant, , Ms R. Wibberley, Mr. M. Lake, Mr. P. Lake, Mrs. P Colthorpe (District Councillor) 

2.     APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE 

Cllr M. Squires (County Councillor), Mrs J. Mitchell (Family issue) 

3.     NON-ATTENDANCE 

Mr. G. Kingdom

 4.    MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING 

The minutes of the meeting held on 14th November 2024 had already been circulated prior to the meeting. 

Proposal: Agreement to the content of the minutes was proposed by Mr. Berry and seconded by Mr P. Lake and was unanimously agreed by the meeting. The minutes were duly signed by the chairman. 

5.    DECLARATION OF INTEREST 

None 

6.     MATTERS ARISING 

None 

7.     HIRE OF PARISH HALL 

The clerk stated that during 2025 the parish council had had 9 meetings at a total cost of £61.00. 

Proposal: Mr. M. Lake proposed, and Mr P. Lake seconded a payment of £61.00 to the parish hall and the meeting unanimously agreed. 

8.     RISK ASSESSMENT 

The clerk stated that the Risk Assessment document for year ending 31st March 2025 had been sent out with the agenda. 

Proposed: Mr P Lake proposed, and Mr Berry seconded agreement with the content of this document and the meeting unanimously agreed. The chairman signed the document. 

9.     STATEMENT OF INTERNAL CONTROL 

The clerk stated that the Statement of Internal Control document for year ending 31st March 2025 had been sent out with the agenda. 

Proposed: Mr P. Lake proposed, and Mr. M. Lake seconded agreement with the content of this document and the meeting unanimously agreed. The chairman and clerk signed the document. 

  1. INTERNET AT PARISH HALL 

The clerk stated that at the hall meeting before Xmas Paul Steele (Chairman) mentioned that initially AIRBAND had said they could provide an internet service however at the later stage they said they couldn’t supply a service. 

At the Hall AGM Paul Steele had contacted AIRBAND again and they confirmed they could provide an internet service but there would be a £4025 connection fee, which the hall committee thought was too costly. 

The Hall committee have now decided to pay to boost the mobile signal at the hall.

  1. DEVON COUNTY COUNCIL DEVOLUTION 

Cllr Colthorpe stated that meetings had gone on about the possible devolution and talks and decision would continue throughout the year.
