Parish Council Grants and Support for local organisations
Every year the Parish Council considers request for grants from local organisations. The Council's grant giving policy is available to view under the Parish Council Policy section of this website
Over recent years the following local organisations have been supported with grants
- Newton St Cyres Parish Hall
- Newton St Cyres Recreation Ground
- Newton St Cyres Church - maintenance of the graveyard only
- Boniface Trail Association
- Citizen Advice
- Mid Devon Mobility
- North Devon Search and Rescue
- FANS (PTA for NSC Primary School)
Town and Parishes (TAP) funding has also been supported for:
- Newton St Cyres Football Club
- Newton St Cyres Parish Hall
- Newton St Cyres Community Support Group
TAP funding is grant fund from Mid Devon District Council which requires the support of two Parish Councils. This grant is no longer in operation
Grants Received by Parish Council
The Parish Council has also successfully obtained several grants. Devon Communities Together awarded a grant to pay for the cost of the Devon Air Ambulance Landing lights at the Recreation Ground and in 2015, Devon County Council supported the Council with a community resilience grant.
Cllr M Squires (DCC) has provided several locality grants including a grant of £1,000.00 to pay for the drainage work carried out in the Parish Hall Car Park in November 2016 and £250.00 towards the new defibrillator. In 2021 a grant of £500.00 for a new Village Green bench was received.
