Precept
Every year the Parish Council agrees a budget and from this determines the precept. The precept is collected via the Council Tax on the residents of the parish. The precept is the main source of income for the Parish Council.
The precept for 2024/25 was increased by the rate of inflation (4.6%) to £14,048.00. This represents a Band D council tax of £36.03. The budget and precept calculation is available to view here
The precept for 2023/24 remains unchanged from last year - £13,431.00. This represents a Band D council tax of £35.74.
The precept for 2022/23 remained unchanged from last year - £13,341.00. This represents a Band D council Tax of £35.53. .
The precept for 2021/22 was set at £13,341.00. This represents a Band D council Tax of £34.50.
The precept for 2020/21 was set at £13,341.00. This represents a Band D Council Tax of £34.50
The precept for 2019/20 was £12,768.00. This represents a Band D Council Tax of £35.39.
The Council tax support grant was abolished in 2019/20
The precept for 2018/19 remained unchanged at £12,768.00 This represents a Band D Council Tax of £35.18
The precept for 2017/18 remained unchanged at £12,768.00. This represents a Band D Council Tax of £34.48
The precept for 2016/17 was £12,768.00. This represents a Band D Council Tax of £34.49
Management of finances
Every month the Parish Council's Proper Financial Officer prepares a budget monitor which is presented at the council meeting. This shows the current spend to date under the budget headings.
This forms part of the Council's good governance and ensures careful management of its finances.
