Signs on the Village Green Policy

NEWTON ST CYRES PARISH COUNCIL

POLICY FOR ERECTION OF TEMPORARY ADVERTISING SIGNS ON THE VILLAGE GREEN

  1. No advertising signs can be erected on the Village Green without prior approval
  2. Only signs advertising Village activities are permitted
  3. Permission must be sought in advance from the Parish Clerk
  4. If the Parish Clerk feels that the request may be contentious, then approval of the Parish Council must be sought
  5. Signs should be no larger than 1.25 metres x 0.625 metre
  6. Signs should be either free standing or secured to the ground by metal posts no more than 1cm in width
  7. If there is more than one sign per event then a maximum of two signs are permitted in a V formation at any one time.
  8. Signs must not be in situ for longer than 14 days prior to the event
  9. Signs must be removed within 2 days of the event and the ground reinstated if damaged
  10. A maximum of 3 events to be advertised at any one time
  11. Signs must not be positioned where they cause obstruction to drivers’ visibility
