Agenda item 4.5
I'm directing this request to you in order that it may be raised at the next PC meeting.
As you know I, like many people within the Parish, are owners of a dog. There appears to be sufficient bins in certain parts of the Village & yet there are two areas that appear bereft of this basic facility.
The first that springs to mind is the Arboretum that attracts many dog owners & of course families with young children. Having just attended the Arboretum AGM we can see that the bin provided near the entrance is used by many of the visitors, which is a good thing.(see photo). But this bin does rely on an Arboretum volunteer having the onerous task of emptying it, despite a sign asking visitors to use a council bin. The nearest bin is adjacent to the Village Hall, some distance away, for many visitors to the Village they would not know it exists. Perhaps a waste bin could be provided near the Church which could be for both general & dog waste? (See photo)
The other area that appears to have "missed the bin boat" is Sweetham. When you walk past the River Creedy there is a bin, but thereafter not one, whether it is general waste or Dog Poo. Contrasted with the Village which from memory has five. It would appear to me that there should be at least one bin in Sweetham, perhaps near the old Telephone box & missing/stolen Post Box.
I hope this is put near the top of the list of reasonable requests , along with the long awaited Grit Bin for KFC!
Agenda Item 5.2
ENV5935-23 – Godolphin Close, Newton St Cyres
- Following discussion it was agreed to only implement restrictions around the junction of Godolphin Close. Removing the proposals outside 4 to 6 and shortening the length extending into the road.
- Councillor Squires and Steve Tucker would consider additional restrictions adjacent to the bus stop island, to be added to the next TRO list.
Agenda Item 7.3.4
Allotment entrance
It would be possible to move the hedges back to give a better angle to view road traffic on the road. However there may be guidance on this regards to farm entrances - ask Quickes?
* Scrape back the current 'hilly' profile to flatten out to make an even entrance
* Lay down scalpings to firm up the soil and make a permanent hard entrance
* Would take about 3 days at his rate of £220 a day and he offered 1 day FOC as a volunteer
* Would need a 5 tonne digger and dumper to carry out the tasks
* May need traffic lights set up to carry out work
