Police Report

Unfortunately this is not something we are able to continue doing.  The reports were very time consuming, what we want to do is update you via our meeting about the issues we have identified as the most concerning, this then frees us up to be able to complete both preventative and responsive action in actually tackling the issues.

We are in the process of arranging another date for the next meeting.

What is available is a report that can be accessed via www.police.co.uk if you then go to find your neighbourhood this gives you an overview of crime.

Agenda Item 10.1

Responses from meeting with DCC Highways in italics

  1. Concrete blocks by Langford Road – Engineering Department are considering wire ropes to hold back any falling stones and remove the blocks. Timing unknown.
  2. Advertising signs on A377 – If the PC formally write to DCC then ALL signs will be immediately removed.
  3. III.      Curb at new school – Confirmed by Ian Sorenson that this will be done
  4. Resurfacing of School Hill - scheduled for night closure in early May. Estimated 3 nights. School Hill to Quickes.
  5. Speed restrictions in Station Road - The SCARF review will take place soon. It is unlikely that signage will be installed.
  6. Manhole cover on bridge in Station Road – A section 81 notice has been issued to the Utility Company. The work will be done..
  7. VII.    Moving school flashing signs further down A377 – delayed due to gas pipe road closures. They are looking into turning them off in the meanwhile. The aim is to remove and immediately re-site in the village centre.
  8. VIII.   Drain at Sand Down Lane – best that the PC reports blockages on-line as they occur. Better still to clear it as they occur!!
  9. Request for a School sign in Station Road and possible zig-zag lines outside the school – request passed to Traffic Team
  10. Drains at Five Elms Lane – work anticipated to be done by December. DCC report that contractor has cleared gully 18/3/19
