One of the important areas the Parish Council is obliged to consider is Planning. The Parish Council is a statutory consultee and all planning applications are notified by Mid Devon District Council direct to the Clerk. Planning applications are placed on the next Agenda and are considered at the council meeting.
Any comments made are notified to the Planning Department and can be view in the relevant planning application under "Consultee Comments" on Mid Devon web site. Click here to go to Mid Devon's public planning portal.
A Planning Charter exists between the Parish Council and Mid Devon District Council and this can be viewed by clicking on the link here
As part of the Parish Council response to the Climate Emergency a checklist has been drawn up and this will be used to assesses planning applications. A copy can be viewed here
