Chairman’s Report
Its nice to see everyone in person again and I’m sure we are all very grateful to have survived Covid and lockdowns. I am however very saddened by the loss of four councillors and the lack of volunteers to replace them. I’d hate to see the Parish Council disbanded – we contribute to village life far more than people realise.
The defibrillator has not been used which is a relief and the bus shelter is getting back to being a social meeting point. The new lawn mower had been used to cut the war memorial grass which looks much tidier after a short back and sides. Like the brave met it commemorates. The playing fields has been the main problem over the last 18 months. We have had confirmation from several sources, our insurance included, that councillors are not liable as long as weekly and annual checks are maintained. I’m sorry to see the zipwire and basket swing go but the new equipment should shortly be installed. I hope a sound zip wire pole can be used to replace the rotten one on the toddler swings. The annual ROSPA report was fair with no high risk items. I’m still doing the weekly reports with hope of a volunteer surfacing! To finish – low numbers are a real worry – please try to co-opt
