Planning
One of the important areas the Parish Council is obliged to consider is Planning. The Parish Council is a statutory consultee and all planning applications are notified by Mid Devon District Council direct to the Clerk.
Planning applications are placed on the next Agenda and are considered at the council meeting. Placing applications on the agenda also serves to notify the wider parish of planning applications.
If the council has any comments these are notified to the Planning Department and can be view in the relevant planning application under "Consultee Comments" on Mid Devon web site.
Only material planning considerations can be taken into account. Guidance on material and non-material grounds for objections can be found here on Mid Devon's website.
