Schedule of Classes

 

FLOWERS

  1.   Single rose
  2.   Hydrangea (3 stems)
  3.   Dahlia (3 stems)
  4.   Sweet pea (6 stems)
  5.   Vase of flowers for insects
  6.   Flowering house plant
  7.   Any flower (single stem) not listed in any other class

PRODUCE

  1.   3 courgettes (same variety)
  2.   A growing culinary herb in a pot
  3. 6 runner beans (SV)
  4. 6 French beans (SV)
  5. 3 onions (SV)
  6. 6 cherry (small) tomatoes (SV)
  7. 4 tomatoes (large) – not cherry (SV)
  8. Six chicken eggs
  9. Any vegetable not mentioned above

CRAFT

  1. A piece of jewellery, any medium
  2. An item to be worn, made from fabric or yarn
  3. Child’s soft toy

(There are no entry fees for classes 28 – 32.  Under 12s are welcome to enter any other classes but will have to pay.)

ART

  1. Flowering container display in a 13.6 litre (3 gallon) bucket.

POTATOES GROWN IN A BUCKET

  1. Grow the greatest weight of potatoes that you can, from one seed potato,

 (Available from Shirley Cope at Rowhill. - 40p, from February), in a 13.6 litre (3 gallon) bucket.

Entry forms will be available from the Garden Club and in various village venues, nearer to the Show.

TIMINGS:

Hall opens for exhibits:                          10.30 – 11.45am

Exhibits may be removed from:            4.00pm

 

TERMS:

A          Classes open to all amateurs

B          Garden exhibits should have been grown by, and/or been in the possession of, the exhibitor for at least 2 months before the show. Craft items must not have been exhibited at this show in previous years.

C          Exhibitors are responsible for arranging their own exhibits.

D          The Committee will not be responsible for any loss or damage to any exhibit that may occur at the show.

E          Exhibitors may enter only one exhibit in any one class.

F          A child is defined as being under 12 years of age on the day of the show.

G          Awards:  There will be a rosette for the best overall exhibit in each section, rose bowls for the single rose class and flower arranging section, along with the show cup and rosettes for the overall winner and runner up. There are cash prizes for the children’s classes.
