Garden Club Programme 2024

 Fri 16th February - Ashley Court, Tiverton (NGS Garden). Private group morning visit.  Coffee and introductory talk, walled garden and extensive grounds with snowdrops.  Optional one course, home-cooked lunch.  

Mon 4th March - Stained glass and glass fusing activities. All day session, to include lunch and refreshments.  The Art Café, South Molton. Booking essential. 

March - Snowdrop planting.  Offers of snowdrops and suggestions for planting sites welcome.

Sat 6th April  - Spring Fair Community Plant Stall Stall                                   

Sat 20th April  - Afternoon visit to ‘Regency House’, a  5 acre plantsman’s  garden and ‘Pounds’, a cottage garden, Hemyock. Both NGS open gardens.

Fri 17th May - Visit to Wildside, Buckland Monachoram. Open 11am – 5pm.                   

Wed 19th June - Visit to Rosemoor at rose time. Meet up for a picnic lunch. 

Sat 29th, Sun 30th June - Bampton Hidden Gardens. Members own arrangements. Twenty or so gardens open from 11am to 5pm on each day. Ticket prices are Adult £6 and accompanied children free. Tickets are available on the day from LARC in Station Road or at Bampton Fresh for a few weeks up to the event.

Sun 30th June - Garden Club Summer Party - a 20th Anniversary celebration, to be held at Brambles by kind invitation of Pat A.         

Sun 7th July - Flower arranging demonstration and activity at the Parish Hall. 2.00 – 4.30pm.  Led by Jan Boddington of Blue Shed Flowers. Booking essential.                                      

Wed 31st July - Visit to Burrow Farm Gardens, Dalwood.                              

Sat 24th August -  STOODLEIGH ANNUAL SHOW.                                       

Tues 3rd September - Plant sale and Macmillan coffee morning at Honeywell, by kind invitation of Paula and Pete. 

Thurs 10th October, 7.30 - 9pm: Talk on Tawny Owls by Stephen Powles with Q&A on other birds of prey at Stoodleigh Parish Hall.       

Sat 26th October - Autumn Fair Community Plant Stall.                                 

Tues 29th October - Visit to Chevithorne Barton.    

Thurs 14th November - ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING at the Parish Hall at 2pm.                     

Thurs 21st November  - Painting workshop for beginners and the more experienced, with Catherine Stott at Weston House, Bampton.  Full day 9.30 am to 5 pm. £70 to include a light lunch and refreshments. Booking essential.                                                                                     

Fri 6th December - Garden Club Christmas Party at Wheatland Barn by kind invitation of Amanda and John & Caroline and John.
