This was the fourth annual Dog Show in Stoodleigh organised jointly by the Church and Parish Hall team. There were a variety of dog classes to suit everyone's family pet as well as cream teas, a pimms tent, bring and buy cakes, competitions, a tombola and a raffle. As in previous years, it was a fun packed and successful afternoon enjoyed by the community and visitors alike.

Just over £800 was raised for Church and Parish Hall funds. The event was supported as usual by many volunteers who helped to set up and run the afternoon's entertainment - without them, the show would not take place. Thank you everyone.

The organisers would like to the thank West Ridge Veterinary Practice who sponsored the event and provided the dog show rosettes and goody bags for participants. Thanks also to the local businesses who donated draw prizes including Burnetts Sheds and Stables, Pork Heaven from Devon and the Stoodleigh Inn, as well as those from Tiverton - Creature Comforts, Pets at Home and Waterman's Country Supplies. Appreciation goes also to Heard & Sendell who provided dog biscuits for every dog who entered a class.

Grateful thanks also to Jeannie Morrissey who was our Judge for the afternoon. Jeannie very generously donated a cup for the Best in Show in memory of her father, Matt Morrissey, which will be awarded annually as well as a cup for the Best Junior Handler for 2016.

The Best in Show cup was awarded to Bournville, owned by Liz Pile, from Swimbridge. Kira from Dunkeswell was the winner of the cup for the Best Junior Handler who won the Judge's approval for her handling of Bournville.

Thank you to Pat and Fred Robinson for the use of their paddock for this event.
