Agenda Item 7.4 (email from DCC Integrated Public Transport)
We currently have some funding from our Bus Service Improvement Plan allocation which we are offering to Parish/Town Councils to assist with obtaining a new shelter or refurbishing/replacing old ones. We can offer 50% match funding, normally up to a total of £5500 per shelter. We do ask to see the spec of any new shelters, to check they are of a standard we are happy with (in terms of appearance, quality and longevity), also to have commitment that the local council will own and maintain the shelter going forward.
If the locations are suitable for an advertising shelter, it may be that a Fernbank advertising shelter can be installed. Although the local council would still need to make a contribution for the shelter to be installed, Fernbank would then agree to adopt and maintain going forward.
Below are some details of various shelter companies - if the council would like a conversation around this to progress then please let me know.
Hope this is helpful....
